We Hate Corruption,
That’s abundantly clear,
But it’s Anna Hazare,
Who’s the reason for our cheer.
He was the only one, who spoke in one breath,
To fight against corruption and fast unto death,
Until the Lokpal Bill received Government backing,
Empowering civil society, which till now has been lacking.
People supported the cause, from the young to the old,
From India and abroad, a tremendous sight to behold.
It was a wake up call for the Government in power,
To see how this movement has become the need of the hour.
They accepted all demands and finally gave in,
A Victory for Democracy, a symbolic Win.
For years this bill has never seen the light of day,
Until the nation got tired and decided to have their way.
It doesn’t end here folks, we have a mountain to scale
To alleviate India from corruption, for which we MUST NOT FAIL.
